Hello,
My 14 year old son has recently come out as self diagnosed transgender. He fits a lot of the discussion points I have read on other threads. I am at a complete loss on what to do. I am enemy number one as I refuse to accept it. The rush to want to go on to hormones, changes names without proper individualized care is mind blowing. I can' seem to find any clinical support in my home town that doesn't support this self diagnosis wholeheartedly and apparently I am suddenly transphobic (and I am definitely not in any way, I am quite liberal) I just don't support immediate medical intervention. I guess I am looking for tips, tricks and support to try and engage my child in a healthy way to desist.. essentially. He is so smart it is dangerous.. does not yet have the brain to be critical or self aware but thinks he knows everything. thanks for reading
