finding reliable medical practitioners
Looking for a therapist in the gta (Mississauga) area of Ontario Canada.

My daughter just came out as non binary with no prior history of any gender questioning. I feel stronger that she is dealing with the trauma of Covid and a year of social isolation and loss of her high performance sport. Have an appointment with our gp on Tuesday but I’m not sure how much he will know about this issue. Terrified for my child. She ticks all the boxes for rogd—gifted, socially isolated, recent trauma (Covid), increased social media use.

Where is the "join" bar?

Mine too. London Ontario. Same question. This is such a ridiculous epidemic that I find it outrageous that the public outcry isn't louder, TRAs or no TRAs. How many parents are required to sound an alarm?????

Hi Miriamelle,

At the top of the page, just under the blue header, is a black bar that runs across the page.

Since you are a member, if you are logged in, you will not see the word "join," instead you will see the words "Welcome back, Miriamelle."

If someone is either not a member or is not logged in, they will see the word "register" there. Anyone who is not a member can click the word "register" and follow the prompts to become a forum member.

I hope that helps!

We have an appointment this week with Dr. Kenneth Zucker in Toronto.  17 and 13 year old daughters.  I've read a lot of good things about him.  I'm looking forward to it.

Be leery of any medication to change hormones. I personally was on Lupron for a year for endometriosis. It made me angry. Not irritable, angry. Unreasonable. In addition to weight gain.

She changed her name to a boy's name when she was 14 years old, and I didn't realize how serious the problem was back then. Now I'm so worried, and I'm looking for a therapist in Washington DC area (including Maryland and Virgina),  who can help me convince her to wait until later in her life to make such decisions.
I came here looking for a therapist in my area--the DMV--and found your post.
It's a few years, wonder if you still post and are online? Please share any resource you found for the area. Thank you!!

Desparately seeking a therapist for my 14 yr old daughter with ROGD brought on by trauma. We are in Massachusetts but are willing to do Telehealth visits, out of network, out of pocket. ANYTHING. We are on a waitlist for one in Texas but he has no idea how long it will be. We are also ok with christian therapists who accept non-christian clients as a last resort.

I am looking for a therapist in the St. Louis/ Metro East area.
14 year old daughter has a history of depression and self harm, beginning at age 12. I believe there is some trauma she is not sharing that sparked this change. Suddenly this week she cut all her hair off, requested to start using a chest binder, and wants to be called a different name/pronouns. Her father is affirming her even though he thinks this is just a phase. I ha e other small children to protect and cannot do the same, so she wants to live with her dad.I think that this is more about her feeling lost, alone, and looking for acceptance. She's being love bombed by the LGBT cult that has grown in our area high school. We've agreed to move her to a smaller private school next year, but we need help and an honest assessment now.

Hi.
I am so thankful I found this Group. People made me feel i was a bad person for questioning how, out the blue my 14 year old son identify himself as trans. He told us a year ago he was agender. I do not suppose to know that he is trans. I know this, because I spy his phone. I believe a lot has to do with hanging out with a group of girls that identifying themself as queer and/or trans and also, to the information from YouTube. He has been in therapy, but reading some of your posts, make me realize that we did all the opposite of the recommendations, she is young, all affirmative and accepting. She told us very clear from the beginning that if we do not accept him we could lose him. I would like to find a new therapist in our area , We live in Athens Georgia.
Thank you
