My ROGD Profile for Boys
#1
I'm working on a profile for ROGD Boys. This is what I have so far. Let me know how your ROGD Boy conforms or differs from the profile. Mine conforms except for #21 as far as I know. This is just a profile, not a diagnostic criteria. I'm a layman, not a mental health professional.
ROGD Male Profile. I posted this to a facebook group earlier and many members said this was an exact fit or very close. Some members said this profile matched their with their girls on most points.

1. Age of onset is during teen years.
2. Did not display gender non conforming behavior prior to “coming out” as trans.
3. Little or no interest in girl things after coming out as trans with the exception of wanting to dress, be addressed as a girl and physically transitioning to female.
4. Grows out hair.
5. Attempts to enlist parents as allies or manipulate parents to the end of facilitating transition.
6. Pre-occupation with hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
7. Parents had no prior hint the teen was trans or homosexual.
8. Smart. Academically talented.
9. Good at mathematics.
10. Little or no interest in competitive sports.
11. Socially awkward, soft spoken.
12. Sexually inexperienced/ inmature for their age.
13. Displays no or little interest in sex aside from stating a sexual orientation.
14. Self identifies as homosexual or bisexual.
15. Pychological comorbidities: anxieties, depression, autism spectrum, ADHD, OCD, for which therapy has been sought.
16. Recent crisis challenging sense of identity: recent falling out with friends, breakup, failure at school, etc.
17. Very active online/ on the internet via forums and gaming.
18. Has at least one trans friend.
19. Spends a lot of time isolated in room.
20. Interest in anime (Japanese cartoons).
21. Interest in cartoon porn and/or hypno-sissy porn.

This is an accurate list, Tom of H. I am sure our members will contribute some other points or behaviors they've seen in their own kids, but you've probably gotten many if not most of them.

Your account has been activated, so you may want to post this in a new thread in our members-only area, as members don't frequent this area of the forum too much.

This is a great first post, though. Welcome to the forum. I hope you find it helpful.

Hi Tom, thank you for putting this together. My son totally meets these criteria, except he was older when he first announced (24) and already had started estrogen "just to make sure", it made him feel better from his depression so he concluded he was a woman. He is doing worse now after a few months though. Gifted but very very immature for his age just as you describe. He had both break up and academic failure before this and a major depressive episode.

I am not sure about porn although it may be. He is totally woke and also into D&D and MTG boardgames.

Hi Tom, thank you putting this list together. This absolutely describes my 15 year old son except maybe 21/22. He is very smart/gifted but very, very immature for his age and is very resistant to growing up. He seems to have no interest in sex or any attraction - main focus is on gender identity - claims may be bi but isn't really attracted to anyone. Right now he wants to grow hair long and often will not cut his fingernails. He is very socially awkward and shy which has been worse with puberty. Now he even has a hard time ordering food at a restaurant or very intimated to order a coffee on his own. He also has a hard time making friends with both boys or girls. Has a tendency to overly follow the rules that makes it difficult to have fun with other kids of the same age. Also often corrects family members or friends, likes to be right and doesn't take teasing very well. Has difficult time being light-hearted and not so serious. Lately he only wears the same thing everyday - rotates with three or four different hoodies. Ever since he was young he would also get into something like rainbow loom bracelets, Harry Potter, Legos, origami, video games, etc. and had to master it and know everything about it only to lose complete interest in it afterwards. He is also very quiet and prefers time alone. But he is also very loving, kind, slow to anger, and accepting, especially for anyone different. He has preferred many girl things when he was a kid and was never interested in sports or boy scouts. But he has never expressed wanting to be a girl, dressing as a girl, wearing make up, or taking his sister's things.
My husband and I feel he is looking for answer to his social anxiety and that maybe he could be highly functioning but on the spectrum. And that he is being influence being online and having trans online friends, especially through the covid time. And this could be something again he want to master but could lose interest if doesn't answer underlying issues.
But we feel completely isolated, like we can't talk to anyone or get help for him with a therapist. I'm sure any therapist would validate this as trans without exploring other potential issues. Our goal is for him to first try to be happy and content without any medical or surgical intervention.
Glad to find this forum and hear from others experiencing same issues.

Wow! That fits almost perfectly. I would add potential traumas eg from loss of a parent or near loss or serious illness of a parent or neglect from a parent

Thanks for posting this!  This indeed sounds much like my 14-year-old son.  I would say he fits most of these criteria except maybe #16 and 20-24.  I do wonder why these characteristics might be seemingly common among natal males identifying as trans.
One thing that comes to mind for me is the whole autogynephilia topic.  Having read Anne Lawrence's book on the matter, it does seem like many of these characteristics may also apply to autogynephliacs.  I do think it's a possibility that this could be common among many of these teen boys, though social factors are another possible culprit.  I know my son's school had coursework on "gender identity" at some point over the last couple of years and this seems relevant.  I would be curious to hear others' take on the likelihood of social factors vs. autogynephilia for boys.

My son exactly. 26 out of 26. This started last summer when he was 15. I wouldn't have thought 21 applied. But fearing for his safety, I hacked into his discord chats. His friends (boys and girls-- "good kids") are sharing with each other the most disgusting Hentai Japanese animated porn that features a lot of characters with sexual characteristics of both men and women. Hermaphrodites, basically -- very exaggerated ones, often also "furries" with tales and ears. Parental internet controls don't catch these because they are drawings.

This fits my 19 year old son exactly. I would add ODD to #15 - oppositional defiant disorder, or something like it. Also, almost constant marijuana for a couple years. I don't know about #21 (Sissy-hypno, cartoons). However, given that he dresses like an anime Lolita, I suspect he watches this stuff. His interest in being a girl seems to be completely focused on looking feminine and provocative.
