As a parent of a boy (who claims to be a "demi-girl" and goes by a girl's name and she/they at school), it is good to see male detransitioners as these seem to have been less visible than the female detransitioners online.

May I ask what prompted your detransition?

I don't know what to write or say about what is happening with my 16yr. old daughter. She is consumed with Anime and cosplay and totally convinced she is trans.
I'm scared, confused, heartbroken and lost.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I’m new here today. Thank you for posting.
My 14 yo daughter is binding and saying she wants to look like a boy. I’ve read Abigail Shrier and Helen Joyce so I know a bit about what’s happening but I’m frightened for her. She told her Mom last night that she worries she will be ‘ disowned’. This is not her language. This is not her. I love her dearly. I don’t want to concretise her situation by using different pronouns or a new name ( which I’m expecting to come along soon).
Good to know there is support out there for parents. I’m so worried.

Three weeks ago my 21 year old son told me over the phone that he is Trans. He has never shown any signs at all other than difficulty fitting in. He has always been extremely smart and participated in math/science competitions and band in school, being labeled a nerd. We as a family embrace nerdiness and see it a good thing. He just graduated from an extremely high stress university and just started a job in Silicon Valley. He is lonely and is having a hard time making friends, and his co-workers don't socialize outside work. He has been on Prozac for 6-9 months for anxiety and after moving to CA his new doc added Gabapentin, which is also prescribed for menopause (decreases estrogen). He has started dressing like a girl and just made an appt with a gp for a referral to an endo for hormones. My husband and I have been encouraging him to wait on the hormones, but he doesn't want to wait any longer. I am absolutely devastated and feel like my son is dying and I have doubts about this change since it was so sudden. Everything on the Internet and seemingly doc's and therapists just say to accept and support. I'm trying to be supportive but I hate this and I don't want it to happen. I also wonder about the combination of anxiety meds he is taking and wonder if they have anything to do with this. My mother and sisters will freak out and I don't want to tell them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

My 20 year old college son has told us he has always wanted to be a girl. He has been experimenting with wearing women’s clothing and the face swap app. We have told him we love and stand by him but have a lot of questions. We’re trying to get our bearings and figure out how best to help him. Please help.
