Hi, I've just joined, looking for support... Of all the problems I envisaged I may have to deal with as a parent, this wasn't one of them. My 14YO daughter has been saying on and off for about a year that she "might be transgender" but finally came out firmly about a couple weeks ago to say: "I feel like I'm a boy and am in the wrong body". She has had a very short haircut for about two years, has never really been into traditionally female-associated clothing and she spends a lot of time on Tumblr and Reddit etc. We've discussed it fairly reasonably to date but last night she said she considers radical feminism to be "bunch of transphobics"... she says she would go for hormone and surgery now, if she could.
